Information Security and GRC Officer

We are looking for an Information Security and GRC (governance, risk and compliance) Officer. You will help organisations set up the policies, controls and records that show their information is managed responsibly and in line with the law.

What you will do

  • Draft and review information security policies, procedures and awareness material.
  • Build and maintain risk registers and control frameworks for clients.
  • Carry out POPIA readiness reviews and help clients close the gaps.
  • Prepare evidence and records for audits, tenders and accreditation reviews.
  • Plan and run staff awareness sessions on security and privacy.
  • Report progress and open risks to the Stream Lead in short, clear updates.

What you bring

  • A qualification in law, information systems, risk, auditing, business or a related field.
  • A good working knowledge of POPIA and general information security principles.
  • Strong writing skills and an eye for detail.
  • The ability to work with different teams and explain why controls matter.
  • Reliability, discretion and good record keeping.

Good to have

  • Exposure to ISO 27001, ISO 27701 or similar management systems.
  • A certification or course in privacy, risk or information security.
  • Experience supporting audits or tender submissions.
